Troupe Abira is a mixed-style bellydance troupe out of Brunswick, Ohio performing a range of Arab, Oriental and fusion dance styles from Egyptian to Alternative Bellydance and everything in between.  Featuring a diverse troupe of dancers of all ages, shapes and sizes, Troupe Abira proudly promotes the Belly Dance at Any Size, Health at Every Size, and No Body Shame movements and believes in celebrating femininity at every age and stage of womanhood.

 

Troupe Abira has appeared at the Cleveland World Festival, FireFish Festival in Lorain, Brunswick Summer Celebration, Arts for All Parade at Ingenuity Fest and numerous other events throughout Northeast Ohio.

 

Troupe members are also active in the local community and perform at charitable events throughout the year.  Troupe founder and director Bareketh has led local Shimmy Mob teams since 2011 to promote awareness of domestic violence issues and raise funds for local women's shelters.  The troupe mission statement is "Changing Medina County, One Shimmy at a Time!"
